"A mal tiempo buena salsa"

If there is a thing I would really love to do since I came to Miami is to have a night free, to go get some chicks and go to the disco, or to get together with some friends of mine and drink while playing winning eleven until we fall asleep.

These last months i've been listening to salsa a lot, really a lot. All my friends are tired of hearing one and again the salsa songs i put in the computer lab, sometime ago I would not listen salsa no matter what, sometihing like two or three years ago. I was in Peru by that time, I think it was when I was 15 in 2004, I don't remember how but the truth was that during that year I started listening and dancing. My girlfriends didn't like either, only one or two liked hearing salsa. I don't think she liked either but there was nothing I could do.

I think salsa is something that cannot let be heared without being danced. The rythm is such that makes your feet move and then everything that is up from there. Sometimes while cooking I listen to salsa and without noticing it I'm dancing alone, no matter if a have a knive or two in my hands. Or maybe other times I start singing, respecting to that I really love to sing "el cantante" I try and try but I can't imitate the voice of hector, hey I've been trying for almost a year now I'm not joking. When I was back in Peru I even started writting some salsa songs with relative success, it's a shame that I can't do the same here.

Salsa is not like other rhymes, it can talk about anything and still can make you dance. The lyrics if read only can make you smile, laugh, cry, think or even can be about some religiuos facts; and that is not all, there is more. Salsa is build with verses that rhymes perfectly; despite from the fact that the salsa songs have a message, if you read the lyrics they will have the famous "octeto": eight syllables that rhyme with each other. This is true for every salsa song, if you want you can check it on the internet.
